Imam Ja’far as-Saadiq RA aur Imam Abu Hanifah RA

Ja’far as-Saadiq (d. 148 AH) s/o Imam Baaqir s/o Ali Zain al Abideen s/o Hussain RA s/o Ali RA

Imam Abu Hanifah met Imam Baaqir in Madinah. ( A weaker report suggests Abu Hanifah met Ja’far as Saadiq )

Abu Hanifah has referenced both Imam Baaqir and Ja’far as Saadiq in his works / rulings.

Notwithstanding above, Fiqh Ja’fari itself is not accepted by Hanafi fiqh or sunnis. This is because Fiqh Ja’fari itself was compiled later on – not necessarily under Ja’far Saadiq expertise.

Difference between Firqa and Fiqha

Firqa parasti – based on branches of religion (not principles, not usul or foundations) a group that proclaims exclusivity in their correctness.

Fiqha – are jurisprudence. Hanafi, Shafi’, Hambali, Maliki are not Firqas

Due to ignorance, extremism in Fiqha can appear like a Firqa

The sunnah way of uniting the so-called firqay is by finding the common ground rather than declassifying them all and expecting or forcing people to forsake their groups and unite as a single group of ‘Muslims’.
